A Little Ahead of Schedule
Something happened tonight that was inevitable. I always knew this would happen eventually, but still I'm surprised by how soon it happened.
Tonight, Grant beat me at a video game. Not even 4.5 years old yet, he bowled a 216 on the Wii while I bowled a 140. I was trying as best I could... not to beat him necessarily, but to get the best score I could muster. I knew I was in trouble when Grant threw a 4-bagger and I fell 80 pins behind.
Just for the record, I came back to best him by 6 pins the following game. Wiiiiiiiiiii!!!

Good to know old Scrap Iron reads brickashaw.com
Phil Garner has finally seen the light, probably thanks to reading this. Biggio will not start most road games going forward.
From my earlier post:
Also, it’s time for Biggio to go. He’s been a great player (although a little overrated in my mind) for a long time, but he is absolutely killing the club now. Over the past 3+ years, he is a .232 hitter on the road. Why do we even play him on the road?!? It’s not like he’s stellar at defense.

Vegas
I'm in Las Vegas with the family, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Zorlock and Tennessee Slim. We're going to play some poker over the next few days.
So far it's been a great trip. We celebrated Andrew's birthday and Caroline made a cake. I would say the highlights so far have been the trip up to Mt. Charleston, where the weather was absolutely perfect and we hunted down some butterflies, going to the Rainforest Cafe, and Caroline and I going to see Penn & Teller. We poked our heads into the WSOP while we were at the Rio to see P&T. Crazy stuff.
It has been about 110 since we got here on Wednesday. Honestly, once the sun is setting up here in Summerlin, it isn't bad outside at all. Down on the Strip is another matter entirely. I noted a 15 degree difference last night when driving back from the Rio.
